About
Coaching Style
My coaching style is intuitive and heart-centered. My unique ability to listen deeply and then reflect back to my clients what I have heard – not just the words, but the deeper meaning I see from your tone, body language and energy allows me to hear your heart’s voice. You are welcomed into a space that is safe and nurturing, without judgment. My clients often comment on how I just seems to “Know” what is in their hearts and minds, and how safe it is to tell me anything. Most of all, I see each client as resourceful, creative and whole.
Values
I value relationships, following my heart, self-expression, learning, doing what works, inquiry, mindfulness, spending time with the people and the kitties that I love, time alone to recharge and travel, especially to New Zealand, Spain and Greece. What makes me tick is connecting at the heart level.

My Story
I was born and raised in a small town in southern New Mexico, the only child of parents who found each other later in life, and who loved me, believed in me, and were sure I would amount to something when I grew up. From my mother I learned to trust my intuition, that there is good that can be found in everyone and every situation (even if it is a lesson to be learned), and that love is the most powerful force in the world. From my father I got common sense, practical wisdom and an experience of the qualities of a good man. The peace and quiet of the desert and mountains, beautiful sunsets and a sky full of stars so close you could almost touch them connected me with a sense of the infinite.
After graduating from Baylor University, I lived in Brooklyn, NY and worked in Manhattan for three years, doing a variety of jobs and proving to myself that I could survive and thrive anywhere that English was spoken. However, three years was sufficient for that adventure and, as my father said “she came to her senses and moved back to Texas”, not, however before telling God that I would never live in NYC again unless there was a man I couldn’t live without who couldn’t live anywhere else.* (see My Relationship History)
Sure that the move back to Texas would shortly put me on the path to meet the man of my dreams, get married and have children, I became very active in the singles department of my church. The ‘meet the man of my dreams’ scenario was not to be, at least not right then. However, my quest for my life’s purpose led me to move from my Southern Baptist background into the spiritual path of A Course in Miracles, which guides me to this day.
My Relationship History
While each relationship was an improvement on the previous one, “the one” remained elusive. Shortly after returning to Houston to establish my Hellerwork practice, and still single, I was in California doing one of the many personal growth workshops I have done in my lifetime and met my now husband, Andy, who was living in New Jersey at the time. While the affinity was immediate, romance was not. The first five years of our relationship were a friendship, which eventually deepened into a long distance romance, then a move back to NYC to be closer to him (see * above). The one condition on that move was that he would move me back to Texas. Ten years after our first meeting, we were married in a magical wedding in NYC, and then celebrated with a second wedding in Texas. I was 45 at the time and am living proof that even though one has been single “forever” it is possible to find that “perfect for you” life partner.
We did move back to Texas in 2004, and I now live in Austin with my adorable husband and beloved kitties Belle and Theo. I am grateful to be a part of a spiritual community that challenges me to look beyond who I think I am to be the best I can be.
